One time I was DMing a group that had to cross a bottomless pit. Floating over the pit were small pieces of land big enough for a single person to stand on. So to cross successfully they needed to roll 10 successful saving throws, basically jumping from floating platform to floating platform. So they stood on the edge of the pit for a while discussing a safe way to cross, while two members that could fly waited on the other side. Out of nowhere the sorcerer just goes for it, roll after consecutive roll was a success until he got to the other side, the remaining party members just stared at him speechless
